Student volunteering week

A week to celebrate and promote the European Year for Volunteering

di Staff

A national, all-sector engaging campaign to raise awareness of the value of student volunteering and its contribution to the community kicks off in the UK with an event in central London on February 14.

The event will include a showcase of student volunteering from across England, a lively panel debate entitled International, national and local volunteering: what type of volunteering is most beneficial for students and the community? and the prestigious Matt Spencer Award will be presented to an outstanding student volunteer. Delegates from the business sector, the community and the field of education as well of Members of the European Parliament, government representatives and student volunteers will be attending, providing an excellent networking opportunity.

Student Volunteering Week is a Volunteering England campaign that celebrates the European Year of Volunteering and encourages students to volunteer.

Student Volunteering Week 2011 Ambassadors

To ensure Student Volunteering Week 2011 is a success, Volunteering England needs the support of high profile volunteering figures to raise awareness of the Week. The UK based NGO is looking for Ambassadors who can raise awareness of the Week through their network and provide a supportive quote about Student Volunteering Week and student volunteers for their website.
