A summit for Europe’s most inspiring young social entrepreneurs

Ashoka Turkey is gathering 40 young innovators in Istanbul

di Cristina Barbetta

Ashoka ChangemakerXchange, a platform for collaboration among Europe’s most inspiring social entrepreneurs, is giving 40 young European changemakers the opportunity to gather to share experiences, exchange ideas and develop innovative solutions.

During the summer and fall of 2012, the forty participants will come together at two five-day events held in Istanbul and Berlin.

The name "ChangemakerXchange" stands for an exchange of ideas between young people from Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Turkey.

The first part of the summit will be held in Istanbul, between 27th June and 1st July. A “Social Learning Journey” will introduce young entrepreneurs to the social entrepreneurship world in Turkey and give them the chance to meet leading Turkish entrepreneurs. At a following conference, the changemakers will be trained in teamwork, project management, financing, and communication over a period of three days. They will present their own projects, develop them further, and can develop ideas for new international initiatives together.

Up to ten particularly innovative project ideas will receive financial support from the Robert Bosch Stiftung and will be overseen by Ashoka Youth Venture..

The project is being carried out by Ashoka Germany, Ashoka Turkey, and Ashoka Youth Venture. The participants were nominated from numerous European organizations and the Turkish youth organizations TOG (Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfi), Young Guru Academy, SOGLA, AIESEC, Hub Istanbul, Bilgi University, Ozyegin University, KOC University, and Genctur.
