The First European Social Business Forum will take place on Monday 22 April in Wiesbaden, first Social Business City.
Over the last couple of years social business has become a recognized business model in Europe and is at the core of the European Union’s economic strategy. Social business aims to create sustainable solutions to address economic and social problems both locally and internationally.
Being launched in the first Social Business City worldwide, the European Social Business Forum is expected to be the central event in the field of social business in Europe, bringing together the social business community to develop the social business concept and movement in Europe. The Forum, which is co-hosted by Yunus Social Business GmbH in Frankfurt and supported by the Yunus & You - The YY Foundation in Wiesbaden, offers the opportunity for social business leaders to interact and discuss issues like financing models or the role of governments and cities with funders, supporters and policy makers in Europe. It will also explore best practice examples like the Social Business City concept, which has created a lot of interest among cities and villages all around the world and follows the vision of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus to form Wiesbaden into a global leader and pioneer for social business in cities.
Prof. Muhammad Yunus, who will welcome guests at the forum together with Lord Mayor of Wiesbaden Dr. Helmut Müller and Hans Reitz, Managing Director of The Grameen Creative Lab, will also give a public speech on the evening of the forum.
