Italy: Vice Minister for Cooperation
Patrizia Sentinelli has been elected as Vice Minister for Cooperation. For the first time Italy has a Minister covering this position in its Government

Patrizia Santinelli, responsible for the Environment at the National Secretary and ex capo gruppo of Rifondazione Comunista (left wing party), has been nominated as the new Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs with devolution for International Cooperation.
This is the first time Italy has a Vice Minister for International Cooperation. The election had been asked by the leading Italian NGOs dealing with the South of the world, which now show satisfaction for the achievement of this important goal.
Santinelli’s nomination has been approved by the Coordinamento Italiano Network Internazionali (CINI), whose members are the NGOs ActionAid International, Amref, Cbm Italia, Save the Children, Terre des Hommes and WWF.
