UK charities called on for volunteer fundraising survey
The Institute of Fundraising is inviting charities to carry out an online survey about volunteer fundraising within their organisations.

The survey forms part of a new institute‘s campaign to gain greater acknowledgement for the work of volunteer fundraisers and to ensure that fundraising receives more recognition on the sector’s future volunteering agenda.
The institute will submit all findings to the Department of Health’s ongoing consultation, Towards a Strategy to Support Volunteering in Health and Social Care, which is set to act as a framework for future government-led volunteering initiatives.
Megan Pacey, head of policy and campaigns at the institute, said the consultation currently barely mentions fundraising or acknowledges volunteer fundraising as a significant volunteering activity with the National Health Service.
“There is still a distinct lack of recognition, across the board, of fundraising as a valid and valuable volunteer activity – and next to no support in volunteer initiatives to nurture and grow volunteer fundraising,” said Pacey.
“This provides us with an opportunity to ensure volunteer fundraising is firmly on the volunteering agenda.”
Charities have until 12 September to take part in the survey.
