Germany has pledged an extra 8.7 million euros in support of Fao anti-hunger projects throughout the developing world, bringing the nation’s total extrabudgetary contributions to 11.2 million euros – the largest amount Germany has ever committed to Fao in one year. Sustainability will be the focus of funded projects including anti-deforestation and seed enhancement schemes. www.fao.org
