Iceland is the most gender-equal country in the world, according to the World Economic Forum’s Gender Gap Index for 2010. The indicators include economic participation and opportunity, educational attainment, political empowerment and health and longevity. The Northern hemisphere monopolises the Index, Norway is followed by Finland, Sweden, New Zealand, Ireland and Denmark. www.weforum.org
