The Turk is Austria’s favourite whipoing boy according to a report by Le Monde. In the prosperous Austrian state of Vorarlberg, where over 70 years ago the Jewish population was a popular target, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) has harvested more than 20% of the vote by brandishing the spectre of “an invasion” of Turkish migrants who represent a threat to “social peace.”
