Italy: Rid anchio, bank donations without expenses
An important agreement has been signed between Abi (Italian bank association) and the Third Sector
di Redazione
?Rid anch?io? is a fund raising initiative that gives the chance to not for profit organisations donors to make their offer through a bank instrument called ?Rapporti Interbancari Diretti? (Direct interbanking relation), with no commission.
Up to now about a hundred banks (equal to 40% of national bank counters) and about 20 not-for-profit organisations (among which Emergency, Amref, Aifo) have joined in ?Rid anch?io?, through a request to their bank offering the service of RID.
Gabriele Eminente, of Amnesty International, is the promoter of the initiative. Other six not-for-profit organisations have joined in the initiative, finding it very interesting. These associations, of great importance on a national and international level, are: ActionAid, Greenpeace, Médecins sans Frontières, Save the children, Unicef, WWF.
The initiative has been made possible thanks to ABI (Italian Bank Association), that has welcomed the invitation of the campaign ?Rid anch?io? and has become promoter of an awareness campaign at Italian banks. ABI will put on its web site the up-to-date list of banks and organisations that have positively answered to the initiative.
