Italy: citizenship and best practice

Consulting for social enterprises, support to third sector organization and promoting local community among the activities of Cris, a resource center based in Milan

di Redazione

Cris is the resource centre for social enterprise that was created in 1998 by the then North Milan Development Agency (now Milano Metropoli), the European initiative Centre and CS&L Social consortium with the contribution of the Cinisello Balsamo municipality and the Province of Milan. It is one of the many examples of best practice that the five cities involved in the LNet project studied and analysed to verify whether it could be replicated. Projects have been proposed that promote local development with special care to employment related themes and social inclusion and participation. The main action areas: information, consulting and training to start new social enterprises and consolidate existing ones; developing integrated projects to support third sector organisations in the management of the processes surrounding social inclusion; promoting the local community and supporting social entrepreneurship through a vast national network of relations.
