?Food is a right: a window on the world?: this is the title it of a comic strip book designed from students of eight countries, whose Italian version has been presented last week in Rome. Based on a cooperation between Fao and the World Association of Girl Guides and Girls Scouts (WAGGGS), the book collects stories from Brasil, Canada, Jordan, India, Indonesia, Italy, Sierra Leone and Uganda.
«The relationship between Fao and Wagggs began long time ago to inform young people that world hunger is a problem which needs to be a concern for everybody», said Valeria Menza, Fao nutrition officer and project leader. «We hope that the book will increase their awareness of the problem and possibly the desire to be involved as engaged citizens in developing countries».
Next fall the book, provided with a guide for teachers on the same issues, will be launched in a worldwide campaign and translated in six languages.
