Italy: social evaluators behind bank counters
Banca Etica is more and more a bank for the not for profit, but not only!
di Redazione
Banca Etica (Ethical Bank) is more and more a bank for the not for profit but has also developed other areas of interest, such as renewable energies and CSR.
A Register of Social Evaluators has been created, aiming at training, among partners, people with specific competences, able to complete the economic and financial investigation done by normal operators.
As for the commitment in new areas, Banca Etica has signed an agreement with Poste Italiane to help clients in accessing services and products of the bank; it has then started a process of internationalization by offering its products in the Basque Region and has obtained the SA 8000 certification which requires the development of a management system and the adoption of means to monitor suppliers.
Finally, the relations with Etica Sgr, the investment company of Banca Etica, of which Banca Etica owns 37,4 % of the shares, have become closer: Luca Mattiazzi, ex Director of Etica Sgr, has been nominated Vice-director of the bank.
Banca Etica is a banking institute operating on a national level, with co-operative and solidarity goals, and respecting human dignity and the environment.
