Charities are almost 3 times as likely as private companies to have imposed a pay freeze during the recession, according to the annual Charity Rewards survey of 301 charities.The survey also found that charity staff earn less than private sector staff, but the overall pay gap fell slightly this year to 10%, from 10.8% in 2005.
