Spanish NGO Plan Espanya has been the recipient of Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire protagonist Anil Kapoor’s entire fee, ensuring that over 10 thousand children be officially registered at birth and the issuing of 57 thousand birth certificates. It is estimated that in India 9 million children born every year are not registered, excluding them from the right to education, healthcare and democracy.
