Spanish pensioners have taken to the streets to protest against the government’s failure to adopt a draft law that would guarantee widows a decent pension.
Thousands of Spanish widows only receive 50% or less of their late husband’s pensions, that is less than 450 euros a month. As of the first week of November, hundreds of pensioners will march through Barcelona weekly. Their demand? 70% of their spouse’s pension.
