UK: A new website providing services for volunteer foundraisers
The new website that will provide free advice on fundaraising, practical tips and event listings for volunteer fundraisers
In February the Institute of Fundraising is launching a new website that will provide free advice on fundaraising, case studies, practical tips and event listings for volunteer fundraisers.
The resource will strengthen the existing support that the institute provides for volunteer fundraisers, including its code of fundraising practice Volunteer Fundraising.
The website has been funded by a one-off grant of £100,000 from the Vodafone UK Foundation but after its launch the institute intends to make the service self-funding.
?Volunteer fundraising is vital to the sustainability of our sector, but many volunteers struggle to get started in their efforts to raise funds,? said Lindsay Boswell, chief executive of the institute. ?This website will be a central resource, particularly for smaller charities that do not have the capacity to support their volunteer fundraisers in-house.
?The institute will be able to provide support to the 16 million-plus volunteers who are involved in fundraising for a host of different charities. The advice, drawn from the experiences of others, will help them raise even more for their chosen causes.?
