European Youth foster youth entrepreneurship in Brussels

ThinkYoung Entrepreneurship Summer School this year in its second edition

di Redazione

Following last year’s great success, ThinkYoung, the first think tank of “young Europeans for young Europeans” is organizing the second edition of its Entrepreneurship Summer School, that will take place in Brussels from 9 to 13 July.

Building a stronger culture of entrepreneurship amongst young Europeans is essential to tackle youth unemployment, that has reached very high rates in Europe. While last year 27 students from all over Europe participated to the event, this year ThinkYoung is building upon this with 64 participants, offering a greater mix of cultural, creative and occupational backgrounds, giving a true international experience.

This learning program aims at fostering entrepreneurial skills and knowledge through a very innovative learning method: at the ESS participants will not find books or professors, only real entrepreneurs passing on real business experience directly to the students. Participants will work in teams, participating to four days of workshops. Each workshop output will be generated by the students, as it will be their task to interview the entrepreneurs. Each team will develop its entrepreneurship guide, gathering information on all the themes from interview with each speaker.

The event will be located at Science 14,ThinkYoung’s official location partner, that will provide students a professional and stimulating atmosphere. On 11 July 2012 young aspiring entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and EU policy makers will gather and share ideas on youth entrepreneurship in Europe during a EU Parliament session.

MEP Lara Comi will host a Parliament conference in collaboration with MEP Pablo Zalba, titled: "Does Europe need to create a European Silicon Valley to preserve and support the initiative of its young entrepreneurs?"At the event ThinkYoung will also showcase the research work they have carried out on entrepreneurship in Europe, presenting the needs they found as well as proposing an action plan

The final section of the event will consist in having young aspiring entrepreneurs interview policy-makers with the purpose of producing a chapter of their guides on the societal and policy implications of entrepreneurship.

Sponsored by Google, the ThinkYoung Entrepreneurship Summer School aspires to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow through a Summer School organised by young Entrepreneurs for young Entrepreneurs!
